Making your urls pretty in WordPress

So, you’ve just started a new WordPress site. You’ve added categories for your blog posts but the when you visit them, the link is something like: http://example.com/2018/01/10/this-is-a-post.

You can change how links look in WordPress thanks to the permalinks functions within the admin panel.

In your WordPress admin panel click Settings > Permalinks. You’ll then see the following screen:

If you check Custom Structure, you change how your permalinks look. Ours are set to /%category%/%postname%/ which enables us to use URL’s like: http://example.com/wordpress/new-post.

We hope this helps. It definitely makes a difference to the structure of your website.
